Bongcher is a sub-tribe of Halam, which is one of the many tribes residing in the Northeast Indian state Tripura. Demographically, they mostly reside in the Kulai and Gandacherra under the Ambassa sub-division, Howaibari area under the sub-division of Teliamura and Amarpur.
